Isma�l H�ry is an experienced architect working with OCTO Technology, a French consulting firm focusing on software architecture and agile methodologies. Isma�l has both security architecture and agile development backgrounds. He has worked on integrating Grails into a strategic JEE project for a leading European broadcasting company and is currently developing a provisioning and directory management system with a Grails based GUI layer.

Gilles Laborderie is a Senior IT Architect working with OCTO Technology, a French consulting firm focusing and advises companies in both the organisation and integration of their applications and in the overall architecture of their information systems. Presently, he is involved in the development of a number of JEE applications, some of which involve Grails. His clients are leading France-based companies, primarily in the Media Sector.

Grails in an Enterprise Environment: Looking Back on Two Success Stories
Less than a year after Grails' first public release, there are already some significant Grails-based applications running on production platforms. This session presents two success stories in which Grails significantly helped deliver an application into an enterprise production environment.

The first case study describes a "full Grails approach" used for the development of an activity management system. During this session we will see how Grails helped speed up the development of a prototype, how it helped refine functional requirements and how it helped smoothly re-integrate the prototype back into an enterprise environment.

The second case study presents a "blended Grails approach" used for the development of a satellitle TV broadcasting management system. Through this project, we will see how Grails can be integrated into existing JEE applications in order to replace current Web frameworks and make GUI development faster and easier.
